Worry Dolls (2013-04-06 10:05:02)

Worry dolls "Dolls [that] remove worries") are very small and colorful dolls traditionally made in Guatemala. A person (usually a child) who cannot sleep due to worrying can express their worries to a doll and place it under their pillow before going to sleep. According to folklore, the doll is thought to worry in the person's place, thereby permitting the person to sleep peacefully. The person will wake up without their worries, which have been taken away by the dolls during the night.


在DC的时候，我们在自然历史博物馆里发现了这个。觉得很COOL，就买了下来，还买了一套给CINDY，最近她体重下降得厉害，从原来的70多磅到现在60磅不到，她想让CINDY好起来。

晚上的时候，她问我，如果她有一个PERSONAL WORRY，可不可以不言传，而意会给WORRY DOLL。我立刻八卦地问，“你有什么PERSONAL WORRY啊？是不是有关于男生的？”她说，“都说了是PERSONAL的了，你还问。”

我好奇呀。但是我闭上了嘴。

当天晚上，她并没有告诉WORRY DOLL任何事情。她们整齐地在床头柜上睡着。

第二天，她又对我说，“我在你的手掌上写，只写一遍。”
我说好。
她拒绝长大。觉得一切与长大有关的生理变化都是恶心的。苦恼ING。
