The School for Good and Evil
她的评语:the cover was what caught my attention.
Agatha, the one who looks like a witch, is a loner except for her best and only friend, Sophie, the one with flowing blonde hair. Agatha hates almost everyone she knows, and has never believed in the fairy tales that are sacred to her hometown. In fact, she lives on a graveyard with only her slightly eccentric mother and killer cat, Reaper. Sophie, on the other hand, loves helping others and is very particular with her appearance. it seems like an unusual pair, but Agatha seems perfect for the School of Evil and Sophie obviously will be #1 in the School for Good. however, their fates are reversed: Sophie is dumped into the black, jagged, stony, prison-like castle that was meant for Agatha while Agatha herself finds herself surrounded by lush princesses and dashing princes. Agatha's main concern is getting hone. Sophie's biggest worry is Tedros, the son of King Arthur and most handsome prince of all. Agatha must get both of them home, but after an encounter with the Schoolmaster does she realize the answer lies in somewhat forced romance, as the longer the two stay in their schools, the more they discover who they truly are-Sophie, a truly deadly villain, and Agatha, a heroic princess. among many strange people and friends both cruel and loyal, the School for Good and Evil is certainly a perfect setting adventure, mystery, and of course, a good kiss....vil
她的评语:this book was very short, but it cracked me up. the author throws these random objects together and makes something so oddly funny. this book is about a warped time travel tale that combines some key time periods to weave a strangely realistic story. and of course, the milk is very important too.
Book of a Thousand Days
她的评语:this book is told from a person from a different time and religion that I've never heard of before. it has so many emotions inside and immediately you are sucked into her world and can see everything from a different angle. I like that the author writes the book as though she is speaking to you. so many feelings; the author writes with passion and heart. I can't explain what it was like to listen to this girl, Dashti, tell her story, so you'll just have to figure it out by reading this book...
The Candy Maker
她的评语:this book's topic was very interesting. rather original, if I can say that. I never really thought about where all of my beloved candy came from. the cover was pretty cool too. the mysterious shadows and crazy lab equipment, the cool concoctions and machines. I liked the basic story, but Wendy Mass could use better vocabulary. Editors, people!! I also liked how she told the story from each person's point of view. at the end, everything just fit together, like this cool puzzle, and it just went CLICK and you lust said, " WAIT A MINUTE..." and then the story just spins on. nice ending.
