Pi in the Sky

她给了三颗星:Joss, the 7th son of the Supreme Overlord of the universe, gets to deliver pies. He lives in the Realms, a secret area made of dark matter that is invisible. But when his world is spotted by an Earthling, Annika, a 12-almost-13 girl, who is transported through a wormhole in time and space, and the Realms are in danger of being discovered, the planet Earth must be destroyed. Temporarily. So Joss and Annika must rebuild Earth within a certain time limit before Earth is truly gone. this book was a little hard to follow, but the setting was very different.

Because of Mr. Terupt

她很喜欢这本书,给了五颗星。
This book was AMAZING and it made me want to laugh and cry and scream all at once. it's about a 5th grade school year with a new teacher, Mr. Terupt, and narrated by 7 of his students. there's class clown Peter, newbie Jessica, two-faced Alexia, brainy Luke, timid Anna, school-hater Jeffery, and constantly bullied Danielle. narrated be each of them, the story tells of how much Mr.Terupt means to all of them in a different way. each is with their own personality, caused by their situations with family and the past. the magic of Mr.Terupt thrives within all of them.

Mr. Terupt Falls Again

是上一本书的续集。
So this book was kinda awkward, I mean, I'm only 10, so the puberty part was REALLY... well...gross. so I kinda just skimmed over those parts. Also, the fact that Alexia's smoking in 6th grade really ticks me off. Like, why start poisoning yourself when you're only 12? ok, I'm sounding like Alexia. sorry. but also the romance thing set me on edge. Like, kissing? and hand-holding? EEEWWW. sorry, I REALLY sound like Alexia now. but it was pretty funny, too. the whole Anna-the-matchmaker thing made me queasy. but everything else was amazing. the story was rich with a lot of ideal touches, like humor and reference from other books, many of which I've read. all the characters added a special element to the story, and I would LOVE to have a teacher like Mr. Terupt. he is practically magical.

Lockwood & Co.: The Screaming Staircase

她最爱的作者Rick Riordan推荐的。又是一个系列的开始。这是第一本。她给了四颗星:
This book was about some sort of futuristic London with ghosts(or visitors as they're called here. the story is told from the POV of Lucy Carlyle, part of Lockwood &Co., a small ghost-hunting organization made up of teens Anthony Lockwood, George Cubbins, and Lucy. Lucy has a dark past that she doesn't like dwelling on with others, and Lockwood's and George's pasts remain a secret. most of their clients are very NOT pleased with their work since the most recent involves sending their client's house up in flames, Lockwood & Co. is not doing very good. and they have to pay the now homeless client 60,00 pounds(London money) that they don't even have. so when a wealthy businessman offers to pay them DOUBLE that amount if they rid his house of ghosts, they of course jump at the chance. however, it's not as easy as it seems, and there's still the mystery of Annabel Ward and her strange necklace...
